COLUMBUS — The Ohio Division of Liquor Control recently partnered with Wild Turkey on another single barrel bourbon release.
Alongside Wild Turkey master distiller Eddie Russell, division representatives selected eight barrels of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit for a special sale last month. The eight barrels, chosen from the Lawrenceburg K (third floor) and Camp Nelson A and F (floors 4-5) rickhouses at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Ky., were allocated to eight agencies across the state for sale beginning Sept. 21.
Kentucky Spirit is a 101-proof, single-barrel bourbon, known for being fuller bodied, with vanilla flavors and a hint of sweetness. The bottles available in Ohio were among the last to be released in the iconic turkey feather bottle, and the handwritten label includes the rickhouse, floor and bottling date.
This is the second time this year ODLC has partnered with Wild Turkey on a special barrel acquisition, following the June release of Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel.
Agencies allocated the special Kentucky Spirit were Giant Eagle Market District in Strongsville, Acme Fresh Market in Canton, Pat O’Brien’s Fine Wines in Pepper Pike, 1837 Wine and Spirits Emporium in Gahanna, The Pit Stop in Lancaster, Kroger 355 in Cincinnati, O’Bryan’s Wine & Spirits in Loveland and Springboro Spirits in Springboro.
